PROJECT CHARACTERISTICS
Hydro-Québec prepared project design elements, selected the protection and telecommunication equipment, and created the necessary programmable automatic controls.
Teknika HBA completed the final control and protection diagrams, and undertook detail engineering activities for the procurement of equipment and control panel and equipment wiring, prepared lists of cables and equipment, and developed sketches for the necessary drawing-in of cables. Teknika HBA drafted the specifications for the purchase of protection panels and the installation of equipment.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
To ensure greater reliability of its 735 kV transmission network, Hydro-Québec implemented an automatic control for detecting electrical disturbances likely to lead to network failure as a result of the loss of transmission lines or a low transmission service.
This automatic control includes protection elements, elements for line status supervision (open or closed), programmable automatic controls and communication links that analyze the network on an ongoing basis and shed loads or production as needed. |
