PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Saint-Narcisse facilities include a dam, completely spanning the river, and a central station more than 500 metres downstream, the two connected by an underground headrace. The dam, 21 metres high, includes a water inlet, a gravity dam structure, a weir, a 3-sluice spillway, a logway and two wing walls with earth embankments. A total of 7 HQ-3 drill holes and 21 boreholes with a 100‑mm diameter were made. The investigation led to recommendations for rebuilding the dam so as to ensure its safe operation for an additional 30-year period.
