PROJECT CHARACTERISTICS
Two sources of raw water: Mont Yamaska's lake or Noire River.
Potassium permanganate oxidation.
Reduction of tastes and odours through the dosing of powder activated carbon.
Construction of the plant on the site of the drinking water reservoir.
Possibility of optimizing the treatment in function of the water quality from the raw water sources.

DESCRIPTION
Two sources of raw water:
-
Mont Yamaska's lake: 9.5-km feeder channel (including 5.9 km of new conduits);
-
Noire River: water intake, raw water pumping station and 800 m of conduits;
Treatment line: two Actiflo sedimentation tanks, two filters, sodium hydroxide dosing, alum, polymers, activated carbon, potassium permanganate and chlorine (liquid).
Plant capacity: 3 500 m³/day.
