Rehabilitation and improvements to the marsh
PROJECT DESCRIPTION Considered as one of the few remaining temperate zones within the city limits of Sherbrooke, the Saint-François marshland was drying up over the last few years. Major work had begun in 1995 to redevelop this marshland.
This development was aimed at improving the marshland. The design we find today includes an observation tower, scenic lookout points, walking path supported by piles, as well as interpretation stations allowing visitors the chance to discover the richness of marshlands and temperate zones.
This important ecosystem covering approximately 40 hectares, includes diversified fauna and flora.
