PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Lake Yojoa’s watershed has reached a development level generating such a contamination that the lake’s natural purification capacity is exceeded. This results in an increase in the contamination of Lake Yojoa’s waters and an acceleration of the euthrophication process.

This level of development of the lake’s watershed continues to increase and the absence of structures for the treatment of residual waters and adequate management of solid wastes see to it that it is urgent to intervene so that necessary structures are built in order to better control the situation and help the lake recuperate its natural purification capacity.

This project is part of a vast program set by AMUPROLAGO for the elaboration of a Sustainable Development Plan of the Lake Yojoa’s watershed and its final objective is to elaborate and implement a Sustainable Tourism Plan.
