Road design was completed using the Inroads software application, according to guidelines received from the MTQ project leader.
This stretch of highway encroaches on a waterway (Rivière Noire), which needed to be moved subsequent to a specific hydraulics study. |
This stretch of highway was controlled for accidental hydrocarbon spills, to avoid contamination of Rivière Noire, a tributary of the potable water supply source for Québec City. |
A drainage system for controlling and containing water from roadway surface runoff was developed according to the established regulations.
The highly rugged ground required specific attention during all project phases, and specifically while assessing the earthwork of longitudinal and cross-sectional roadway profiles.
